3 Examples On How A Simple Outfit Can Look Totally Different With Accessories

See how shoes, jackets, hair and makeup can completely change an outfit.

I know that the seasonal 10 x 10 challenges already show us how much we can do with only 10 garments, but we all seem too focused on pairing different bottoms with different tops and not esteem enough the power of shoes, jackets, hair and makeup to completely change an outfit.

This month on the Minimalist Wardrobe, I decided to show how 3 simple (pairing of) garments can look completely different with 3 sets of accessories and how these sets work perfectly with all the garments.

1 – Garment 1: black dress
2 – Garment pairing 2: high-waisted denim + cropped tank
3 – Garment pairing 3: straight pants + t-shirt

A – Accessories set 1: earrings + white sneakers + hair down
B – Accessories set 2: long pendant necklace + white sneakers + denim jacket + high ponytail
C – Accessories set 3: long brass necklace + large hoops + high-heel black booties + leather jacket + braided updo + dark lipstick

See? I only used: 1 dress, 2 pairs of pants, 2 tops, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 jackets, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 necklaces and 1 lipstick – hair is already on our head and is for free, but we can add a hat or a silk scarf if you want to make a hairstyle even cooler!

I know that a lot of women are only comfortable with their hair down and always in the same style, but try and experiment with it, you’ll be surprised to see how much difference it does.

Also, you won’t need to wash your hair every other day to be polished – I usually do my braided updo on day 5 and beyond! If you’re not able to work with your hair, just start with simple hairstyles and follow tutorials on YouTube, there are a ton.

I hope you liked this little experiment and made you realize how many options you have in your wardrobe (and not only) that you haven’t explored yet.

To the next time, xo
